The Morris L. Hayhurst LaunchLab recently had the opportunity to collaborate with WVU’s Alpha Omega Epsilon (AOE) sorority, an organization providing its members with career advancement opportunities. The LaunchLab’s involvement in this event is important, as it recognizes the LaunchLab’s cultivation of hands-on development in innovation and prosperity.
AOE is a professional and social sorority working to advance women and non-binary individuals in STEM and male-dominated fields. AOE drives to support and uplift its members through a welcoming and inclusive environment, so they may all flourish professionally, socially, and academically. This semester, AOE’s bid day – an event to celebrate the sorority’s newest members – was held here at the Morris L. Hayhurst LaunchLab. The event had an enchanted forest theme, where new members were welcomed with whimsical decorations and fairy-tale treats. AOE was able to utilize the LaunchLab’s whiteboards, tables, and walls to create the perfect environment.
Janella Camp, AOE’s PR Chair, stated “The LaunchLab provided a great space for us to host such a special event for our organization. We loved the room and the people and I can definitely see us collaborating again in the future!”
At the LaunchLab, members of AOE were able to cultivate an atmosphere of excitement and appreciation to bond the sorority’s existing and new members. The LaunchLab is excited to have been a part of such an important event, understanding the importance of empowering women and non-binary individuals.
The Morris L. Hayhurst LaunchLab is honored to have been involved in such a meaningful event, and extends its greatest congratulations and thanks to Alpha Omega Epsilon!
