Hi, I’m Ethan Weaver, a freshman here at WVU studying applied artificial intelligence and finance. My business is Truss AI, we are an AI service business that focuses on the service business solely in West Virginia. In the service industry, a missed call is a missed customer. I’m building Truss AI to solve 'revenue leakage' for West Virginia contractors. We’re developing a 24/7 AI triage system that ensures every lead is captured and categorized, even when the owner is on a job site without cell service.
My perspective is that AI is the next 'operations layer' for the economy. It’s no longer about whether businesses should adapt; it’s about how they can use these tools to stay competitive. I want to make sure West Virginia’s small businesses have the same technical edge as a corporate firm, without the steep learning curve.
How the LaunchLab has Helped
Coming from a small town like Grafton, the LaunchLab has been a game-changer. It’s more than just a workspace; it’s a community of people with the same drive and goals. Having access to mentors who can critique my logic and help me navigate the challenges of starting a business has been essential to my growth as a founder.
