Elizabeth Shorrock
VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR FASHION, DRESS, & MERCHANDISING
Cohort 5: 2021-2023
As a sustainable designer, Beth is extremely interested in ethical production, sustainable practices and the utilization of waste and surplus materials. Her expertise in textiles led her to be-come involved in the fibershed movement, and to establish the Central Appalachia Fibershed which promotes and supports a regionalized supply chain of fiber to finished product.
With this fellowship Beth will develop a new course Farm to Fashion which offers students from multiple majors an opportunity to explore the fashion/textile supply chain through a holistic, hands on, sustainable, and circular approach, utilizing university programs and resources that have a direct impact on the development of fibers, fabric, and fashion.
