LaunchLab Mini Meeting with Anne Jones, Mark Schlies (and Sometimes Ella): These mini meetings will go over the upcoming pitch competitions. Want to know what it is all about? Learn how to apply and the secrets of winning. Mini-meeting facilitator, Anne Jones, has coached many winning teams at pitch competitions and she will let you know what the judges look for. While you're learning how to rule the world, you also get to connect with other students and can build a team for your next big idea. Everyone is welcome.

BPC: The West Virginia Statewide Collegiate Business Plan Competition offers college students around the state the unique opportunity to make their business idea come to life. Participants come from many different disciplines and backgrounds, and the competition is open to all full-time higher education students from any major in the state of West Virginia. Please find attached the official rules and regulations for this year’s competition. (Registration Open Until 11/13/2020)

The LaunchLab Web Series: Surprise! Here is the quarantine project we have been working on... Introducing our VIRTUAL LAUNCHLAB series! On our Youtube page we are tackling some of the most important tips and tricks for your idea journey with bite-sized knowledge from experts & professionals in the field.

March Idea Challenge: The March Idea Challenge is an innovation pitch competition open to all students from all colleges. To apply, students must create a 90-second video that provides a description of their idea as well as the problem it solves or the opportunity it creates. Of the applicants, eight will be selected to compete in the First Round of the Challenge on Thursday, March 18. These participants will be chosen by independent judges based on the uniqueness, feasibility and investment opportunity of their idea.

The pitching portion of Round One of the Challenge will be virtual from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The eight chosen participants will go head-to-head in the first round featuring a 3-minute video pitch and 5-minute question and answer from the judges. Four will be selected to move on to the second round to be held on March 31, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Winners will be selected by a combination of judges scoring and audience votes. Applications are open and will remain open until March 15! Be sure to submit your video!

WVU entrepreneurs selected to participate in National Science Foundation I-Corps training

Two West Virginia University entrepreneurs have been selected to attend the National Science Foundation Innovation Corps (I-Corps) training program beginning May 5 in Nashville, Tenn.

These are the winners of the first I heart IDEA Hub pitch challenge.

WVU LaunchLab Network hosts third annual March Idea Challenge

The West Virginia University's LaunchLab Network hosted the third annual March Idea Challenge Wednesday (March 27), lauding Statler College students James Carnes, Kyle Gillis and Alan Brockman for pitching their company, ICONIC EDU, as the winning team after four contested rounds of competition.
